Biography
Seamus McKaig joins GSA to teach US History, Psychology, and social studies electives. He comes to Blue Hill from Hampden Academy, where he taught US History, World History, and Economics.
A native of Orono, Seamus played football and hockey at Orono High School (Class of 2015) — experience coaching and mentoring younger students there first pointed him toward teaching. He graduated summa cum laude from Western New England University with a degree in Secondary Education and History.
Outside the classroom, he's a devoted Bruins fan (a hockey-teacher pairing that checks out), plays acoustic guitar, and keeps a podcast running nearly nonstop. He says the best part of teaching is the moment a lesson clicks for a student against their own life — the lightbulb moment.
