Biography

Elle is an artist, musician, and avid learner of new things. She attended GSA briefly between bouts of living in Costa Rica, Hawaii, and the Caribbean, and went on to study Studio Art, Gender Studies, Contemporary Art, and Intermedia at institutions in Iowa, London, Florence, Estonia, and Maine. For her, art is not a product, but an act of radical being — of connection to the deeper aspects of life itself. And she believes that cultivating the imagination (and the creative power that accompanies it) is more important than ever, as our world continues to position us as receivers: of content, media, ideas. In her courses at GSA, which include visual art and advanced animation classes, she aims to flip this dynamic; to give students the tools and guidance to become creators and thinkers in their own right, able to engage with the world as generators of vision and thought.
