BECOME AN EAGLE

At GSA, we believe every student deserves to succeed in school and to graduate well-prepared to pursue further education or to enter the workforce. We offer students the opportunity to explore and engage with curiosity, discipline, and open-mindedness. Whatever your aspirations are in life, our staff, caring community, and vast curriculum provides the support and flexibility to discover who you are and create who you will be.

GSA is a warm, personable, and caring community. We encourage you to visit campus for a tour to experience it yourself. When you are ready, call us at 207-374-2808 or send us an email. We are excited to meet you!

LOCAL STUDENTS

  • GSA admits all qualified students from our peninsula’s sending towns—Blue Hill, Brooklin, Brooksville, Castine, Penobscot, Sedgwick, and Surry—who can benefit from our programs and would like to be part of a vibrant learning community. We encourage every high school-aged student from these towns to explore GSA’s traditional and nontraditional academic programs; our athletics, arts, and other extracurricular activities; as well as our small and inclusive school community, and to consider enrolling.

  • Any resident in a town without its own high school is encouraged to apply to GSA. This includes the towns of Orland, Otis, Franklin, Hancock, and Trenton. Tuition for these families above what the town pays is the amount the Board sets per year. Please see Our Financial Commitment to Financial Assistance below.

  • Residents of towns without school choice may still attend George Stevens Academy. The full tuition for these students is the responsibility of their parents/guardians.

  • We are committed to working closely with every prospective and current family to make attending GSA possible. We work with each family to create a payment plan that fits the needs of each family.

INTERNATIONAL & HOST STUDENTS

Join the GSA International Homestay Program and embark on a journey of cultural discovery, personal growth, and lifelong friendships!

We hope you have already discovered that George Stevens Academy and Blue Hill, Maine are special places. GSA homestay students are not just part of a school, they are part of a welcoming, supportive, and safe community. Students come to George Stevens Academy because of the quality of the education, the nature of the community, and the enduring connections. Homestay families provide an enriching experience for the international students and provide them with an immersive experience in English language and American culture.

Tour our website and see how rigorous academics, diverse experiential learning opportunities, community integration, academic support, and inspiring teachers, coaches, and homestay parents unlock learning for students in a powerful way.
