Priority Giving Opportunities

The GSA Fund is the school's most important fundraising initiative. Providing day-to-day support for many aspects of GSA, including our comprehensive academic programs, visual and performing arts, athletics offerings, extracurricular activities, teacher and staff salaries, technology updates, and improvements to our campus, the GSA Fund strengthens and ensures a vibrant experience for today's students and faculty.

GSA also offers the following giving opportunities that support our unrestricted endowment fund, restricted endowment funds, and other priority giving initiatives. Deborah Brewster Memorial Scholarship

The Deborah Brewster Memorial Scholarship was established in 2021 by Deborah’s family to honor her decades of service to GSA and her community. This scholarship is awarded at Commencement to a senior who has committed time and energy to improving their community.

Rusty Duym '65 Sailing Fund

The Rusty Duym ’65 Sailing Fund was established in 2011 by the Becton family in honor of their lifelong friendship and love for Rusty and to pay tribute to his talents and spirit in a lasting fashion. This fund provides critical support for GSA’s sailing program.

Food for Thought Fund

In 2017, Dorothy "Dottie" B. Hayes established the Food for Thought Fund. Her experience in schools informed her belief that a hungry student cannot be a focused learner. The income from this endowment fund is used each year to help pay for school lunches for students whose families are in need of financial assistance.

Hylan Family Fund for the Performing Arts

Drew Cleveland '13 received the first Hylan Award in 2019 to support his participation in a Brown Box Theatre Project.

The Hylan Family Alumni Fund for the Performing Arts was established in 2018 by the Hylan family in memory of Charles, Gertrude, and Jude Bartlett. The goal of the award is to help fund a specific plan or project related to the performing arts. Alumni of any age who have completed at least two years of a recognized program in theater, dance, or music are eligible. For more information or to download the application, CLICK HERE.

Nicene-Marks Pascal '89 Theater Arts Fund

The Nicene-Marks Pascal ’89 Theater Arts Fund was established in 2007 by the Pascal family in memory of Nicene, a passionate member of GSA’s drama productions. This fund supports school drama productions including acting, directing, and backstage technical work.

Honorable David Forrest Snow Fund for College & Career Counseling

The Honorable David Forrest Snow Fund for College and Career Counseling was established in 2021 by Joyce Snow. This fund supports all aspects of our College & Career program, adding depth and impact both to our program’s capabilities and to individual student opportunities and outcomes.

Spencer Winsor Student Enrichment Fund

The Spencer Winsor Student Enrichment Fund was established in 2011 by members of the Winsor family. Spencer served as GSA’s first guidance counselor starting in 1966, and he partnered with other community leaders to found “the Homestead Project,” which later evolved into KidsPeace. This fund provides critical support to help students develop their futures while they are still enrolled at GSA.
