SENIOR HONORS ANNOUNCED!

This week, Dan Welch announced the 2026 Senior Honors recipients to the GSA student body at assembly. The 2026 honorees are:

Valedictiorian: Violette Hermans

Violette is a Dartmouth Book Award recipient and is attending Rhode Island College in the fall.

Salutatorian: Lillian Landrum

Lillian is a Bowdoin College Book Award recipient and is attending Vassar College in the fall.

First Essayist: Elizabeth McGaha

Elizabeth is a Rochester Institute of Technology Science & Math Award winner. She has not yet decided where she will be attending school in the fall, but she is pursuing dentistry.

Second Essayist: Anna Dovhanych

Anna is a talented mathematician and artist with many college acceptances. She has not yet decided where she will be attending school in the fall.

Congratulations to all four of you- we are very proud of you!

ISIP EXHIBITION NIGHT IS THIS WEEK!

Congratulations to Hannah Maeve Was ‘26, who penned an article in this week’s Weekly Packet about GSA’s ISIP program.

The annual ISIP Exhibition Night is this Wednesday, March 18th, from 5 pm to 7 pm in the GSA gym, cafeteria and adjacent areas.

Four of GSA’s freshman class, also known as Shoeless, have been invited to play in the concert “GIrls Rock” at Maine Academy of Modern Music on March 20th. Click here to get tickets!

GET YOUR CPR & FIRST AID TRAINING- MARCH 28TH AT GSA!

CPR & FIrst Aid Class

Saturday, March 28th at 2pm

This course would be ideal for any staff, faculty or students. Especially, students interested in babysitting over the summer as this credential is often wanted by parents in caring for their children.

Students who will be entering Health Occupations I in the Fall will be required to do a separate CPR course (Basic Life Saving) and this will be provided early in the fall.

SUMMER COURSES REGISTRATION:

Registration for online summer courses for University of Maine and Community College system is now open. Tuition is free for Maine-resident high school students, but depending on the course you may need to purchase a textbook or materials.

Interested students should look at the information on GSA Students and talk to Mr. Stearns. Many of these courses fill up and the colleges don't play games with late registration.

Registration for next fall's courses will open on April 13. Husson University will be opening registration for it's fall Early College program sometime in April as well.

FREE BREAKFAST PROGRAM LAUNCHES AT GSA!

We are happy to announce that GSA is now participating in the National Breakfast Program. We have been working with the Maine Department of Education School Nutrition Department to ensure that all students can receive free breakfast throughout the school year during our scheduled break time. The first breakfast was served on Wednesday- here’s Jim serving pancakes to the students!
