First Grant Supports Dramatist
Drew Cleveland '13 is the winner of the first grant from the Hylan Family Alumni Fund for the Performing Arts.
The grant will help Drew pay living expenses while he performs as Claudio in the Brown Box Theatre Project production of Shakespeare’s “Measure for Measure” this summer. The project presents high quality professional theater productions free of charge to “underserved communities in the Boston and Delmarva regions,” according to his application.
The grant, Drew wrote, will “enable me to do what I love in service of something greater than myself.”
The Hylan Family Alumni Fund for the Performing Arts was established by the Hylan family in memory of Charles, Gertrude and Jude Bartlett to support GSA alumni who are performance majors and who have chosen to study theater, dance or musical performance.
