After coming to GSA, new students are introduced to the school, fellow students (and future friends!), and the beautiful coast of Maine in a series of fun and challenging activities, including an overnight trip to Mount Desert Island, the second largest island on the Eastern Seaboard of the United States. Mount Desert Island, often referred to as MDI, is home to the largest part of Acadia National Park, which was named "America's Favorite Place" by ABC's "Good Morning America" television show after a nationwide poll of its viewers. In 2017, there were 3.5 million visits to Acadia, making it the seventh most-visited national park in the country.
Take a few minutes to look at some photos of this year's orientation in Ms. Cunnane's classroom, in Acadia National Park, and at Camp Beech Cliff on MDI.
