In Her Words
I am a strong advocate for teaching scientific literacy through experiential learning. GSA is ideally situated on the Maine coast, providing access to a dynamic ocean and phenomenal forest landscape. With a classroom set of foul weather gear and rain boots, students are frequently asked to suit up because we are headed outside to learn and explore. I work with local experts, from biologists to commercial fishermen, so that my curriculum is grounded in what is presently occurring in our natural world.
In the summer, I enjoy hanging out with friends, swimming, sailing with my husband, and hiking with my dog, Abby.
