    National Jazz Festival: Three GSA jazz performances were entered into this year's National Jazz Festival, and those videos will premiere on the festival YouTube channel on Saturday, May 21. The Tasty Bites entry is set to premiere at 12 P.M. The GSA Jazz Band entry is set to premiere at 12:30 P.M. Jenna Blodgett's vocal soloist entry is set to premiere at 12:30 P.M. The awards will be announced starting at 8 P.M.

    Blue Hill Memorial Day Parade: The GSA Concert Band will hit the streets on Monday, May 30, at 10 A.M. to honor those who have given their lives in service to the country.

    Honors Combo in Castine: Tasty Bites will perform an evening of jazz at the Wilson Museum in Castine on Friday, June 17, at 6 P.M. The free event is open to the public. Visit https://www.wilsonmuseum.org/calendar.html

    Deer Isle Jazz Festival: Our Tasty Bites jazz combo will perform at the Stonington Opera House on Friday, July 29, opening night of the festival. Visit https://www.operahousearts.org/2022.



    More Steel Band: Our Steel Band classes stayed busy making music after our Winter Concert.

    Jazz All State Festival: Morgan Davis '22 and Austin Chandler '23 took part in the MMEA Jazz All State Festival Jan. 13-15. Concert videos are shared in the story HERE.


    The GSA Band plays for the crowds at varsity basketball games, in our annual Holiday Concert, at the Wreaths Across America ceremony in Ellsworth, in MMEA competition, at the annual Spring Concerts, in Blue Hill's Memorial Day parade, and at other school events. Band members who are not yet graduating play at commencement every year.

         The GSA Jazz Band plays at the Blue Hill Fair every year, in our annual Holiday Concert, at varsity basketball games, in instrumental jazz competition, at our annual Spring Concerts, and at other school events.

         One or more of the GSA jazz combos perform at the Holiday Concert in early December, in instrumental jazz competition, at our ninth-grade preview day, at the annual Spring Concerts every May, at Senior Class Night, at the Blue Hill Pops Concert dinner in July, and at the Deer Isle Jazz Festival in August.

         Our Steel Band classes also perform at school events.
