    In Her Words

I've always been dedicated to education and community, serving on local public and private school boards, teaching language, guiding a high school aspirations program, and coaching. I enjoy mission-driven work and have supported nonprofits in various roles throughout my career. As Camden community development director, I led our town's Windjammer Festival, Christmas By the Sea, and Winterfest.
My siblings and I all reside in our hometown where our nine children have grown up together. My daughter works in education, guiding high-schoolers through their college application process. She has settled with her husband in western Massachusetts where he teaches at Smith College in the field of climatology.
I feel we're so blessed here in Maine by all the opportunities that nature offers us. In my free time, you can usually find me outdoors, either in my garden, hiking, or biking, and in the winter, enjoying on-snow recreation. My craziest pasttime is skiing uphill, a backcountry sport called alpine touring, or more traditionally, randonee.
