The Hylan Family Alumni Fund for the Performing Arts

GSA alumni are invited to apply for the Hylan Family Alumni Fund for the Performing Arts Award to help fund a specific plan or project related to the performing arts. Alumni of any age who have completed at least two years of a recognized program in theater, dance, or music are eligible. Applicants do not need to be currently enrolled students to qualify for this award.

The Hylan Family Alumni Fund for the Performing Arts was established by the Hylan family in memory of Charles, Gertrude, and Jude Bartlett. The goal of the award is to encourage and support GSA alumni who majored in or are majoring in theater, dance, or musical performance.

If you will be undertaking a thesis project, an independent study or internship, participating in a performance, recording any sort of music or participating in another opportunity for which you need financial assistance, we encourage you to submit an application. Expenses related to the project, including travel and living expenses, can be covered by the award.

Amounts of the award will vary between $500 and $1,000 according to the budget and scope of the proposed project. In order to apply, GSA graduates must have completed at least two years of a recognized program at any level, with a 3.0 or equivalent GPA, and they must have verifiable plans to continue their program of study, pursue an internship, take part in a performance, or participate any other endeavor related to the performing arts.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Only one award will be given during any calendar year.
